Meet Our People

Senior Pastor:

Rev. LeRoy K. Dunlap

Founder

Pastor Dunlap began his walk with God on a tour of duty with the United States Naval Service in 1976.  With his salvation, came a hunger and a thrist for knowledge.  This zeal for God's Word led him to East Coast Bible College where he received his Associates and Bachelor's degree's in Theology.  To further qualify himself to minister to God's people, he minored in psychology and pastoral counselling, ultimately graduating Summa Cum Laude and honored as Valedictorian of his graduating class.

He founded Redemption Christian Ministries in July of 2000 with only 19 charter members.  Redemption Christian Ministries now supports the Charlotte area with a 14,000 sq ft facility that provides a myriad of ministries for our local community including respite for at-risk youth, feeding ministry for our displaced brothers and sisters, shoe-box ministries, drama and dance ministries, to name a few.

Pastor Dunlap's philosophy is simple:

Don't get in such a hurry that you leave behind more than you can catch up with.  Just because you leave first doesn't mean you will get there first.  Beware of the high cost of low living.  Turn back to the bible and save your soul.

Associate Pastor

Rev. Lisa Thatch

In 2001, Lisa Thatch came to Redemption Christian Ministries, captivated by the atmosphere of freedom in the Holy Ghost and empowered by the message of faith brought forth by Pastor Dunlap. What was intended to be just a ‘visit’ became a ‘home’.  Desiring to be a ‘supplying joint’ and coupled with a passion for children, Sis. Thatch became a leader of the RCM Youth Department.  Continuing over the years to study under the leadership of Pastor Dunlap and the Holy Spirit, Sis. Thatch tried to satiate her thirst for understanding she began to ‘rightly divide’ the Word of God spending hours upon hours reading, cross referencing and asking lots of questions.

On February 6, 2011, under the obedience to the Holy Spirit she finally put aside herself and her reservations and accepted the call to preach.  On March 3rd, 2011 upon the completion of her initial sermon, she was licensed by Pastor Dunlap and installed an associate pastor of Redemption Christian Minitries.

She continues to serve in the Sunday school department, youth department, drama department, web and communications department, as well as continuing her studies in the Gospel through various continuing education and certifications.

Rev. Thatch is also a public speaker and endeavors to empower women to unlock their limitless possibilities by overcoming their pasts and becoming more than a survivor but to instead THRIVE!!
